On January 30, 2020, representatives of the LWVJC appeared before the Jefferson County Commission to urge them to use their website to better educate voters. The County Commission is addressing key topics of importance to the community, including the need for a new courthouse and a study of how to improve broadband service in the county. Yet the County Commission website includes nothing about either project.

In October 2019, the LWVJC urged the Commission to feature issues of community concern on their website. This has not happened.

The League of Women Voters is committed to informing community members of important topics. We asked the County Commission to “agree with us and use their website to better educate voters about ongoing studies and projects.”
