In celebration of the 19th Amendment and the role of women in public office, the League interviews long-time Jefferson County women officeholders for their take on the political process over their careers, and their advice for women entering the political arena today.

Interview with Jefferson County Commissioner Patsy Noland. Nearing the end of her final term as a county commissioner, Patsy Noland reflects on her career. Ms. Noland served Jefferson County as Magistrate, Circuit Clerk, and County Commissioner during her 30+ years of public service.

To commemorate the centennial passage of the 19th Amendment, this exhibit gives a brief look into the local and national women’s suffrage movement through propaganda, photographs, newspaper articles, and telegrams from the museum’s collection concerning passage of the Amendment in the West Virginia legislature.
